The peace of mind that comes from full accreditation
All Doutta Galla facilities are accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, which is the body appointed by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing to audit and manage accreditation of Australian aged care facilities.
Accreditation is about ensuring aged care facilities meet a set of Accreditation Standards, set by the government.
Qualified aged care assessors visit a home and speak with staff, management, residents and their families, to determine whether the home meets all the Accreditation Standards and expected outcomes.
A facility must be accredited by the Agency in order to receive funding from the Australian Government. All Doutta Galla homes meet the full range of requirements and have therefore received the maximum three years' accreditation.
Even after a home receives accreditation, the Agency continues to monitor facilities to ensure residents continue to receive a high level of care and that all standards continue to be met. Facilities must also show the Agency that they regularly seek feedback from staff, residents and their families, and look at ways they can improve.
