Dear Resident, Families and Friends,
I am delighted to inform you that late this afternoon, the Western Public Health Unit has advised us that the Woornack Home exposure restriction has been completely lifted.
This means that:
- All residents will no longer need to isolate in their rooms and will be able to move around the entire Home.
- All Residents may leave the Home to attend appointments where necessary, adhering to COVID-19 safe practices.
- New, fully vaccinated residents may again be admitted. Prior to admittance they will take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) to ensure they are negative to COVID-19.
Starting from today we look forward to seeing our residents come together for their meals in the common dining areas.
We will continue to monitor residents’ health and wellbeing closely. Staff will remain wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with Government directives. Social distancing, hand hygiene and normal infection control cleaning regimes will also continue.
As you know there continues to be a high COVID-19 transmission in the community. Doutta Galla will continue to revise its operational practices and ensure our Home adheres to all updated COVID-19 safe practices and directives to minimise further exposures. This means we may need to quickly re-activate our response to potential exposures at short notice. Our priority remains to safeguard our residents and staff as best we can.
We understand that you will want to connect with your loved ones and ask for your patience. All visitors will need to be fully vaccinated and show they have a negative RAT result before admission, and please follow the instructions provided by our staff. We need to take these steps to facilitate visits safely. I encourage you and your families to get the Covid-19 booster vaccination as soon as you are eligible.
