Doutta Galla COVID-19

28 May 2021

Dear Resident,

This communication is to acknowledge that again as a member of the Victorian community you have been asked to restrict your activities in line with the arrangements as set out by the Victorian Acting Premier James Merlino yesterday.

As you will be aware the Acting Premier announced yesterday that Victoria will move to “circuit breaker” restrictions from 11:59pm 27 May 2021, following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Victoria.  At this stage, the restrictions will remain in place until 11:59pm on 3 June 2021.

This means that the Aged Care Home is also once again in lockdown and has had to introduce stronger visitor restrictions for the period.

I’m sure you all already know that you cannot leave your home unless you are doing so for one of the five following reasons:

Please take care and wear a mask when required, maintain social distancing and continue to practice hand hygiene.  This lockdown is another reminder that this pandemic is not over.  We urge you to follow carefully the restrictions announced yesterday by the Acting Premier and remind those who are eligible that vaccination is one of the key steps in helping to stop the spread of the virus.

If you have queries or questions, you are welcome to call Sandy at Harmony Village on          03 5831 7921.

Also, I would like to let you know that all my general communications, are available on the Doutta Galla website at https://www.dgas.org.au/coronavirus-updates/ and can be accessed at any time.

If you or your family would like more support during this time, please reach out to OPAN (Older Persons Advisory Network) on 1800 237 981.  They are available 6am-10pm, 7 days a week.  The other organisation that can assist you is Elder Rights Advocacy Victoria who can be reached on 1800 171 866 for support and advice.

Yours sincerely,

Vanda Iaconese
