Doutta Galla COVID-19

3 September 2022

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

I am writing to let you know that that a staff member at our Yarraville Village Home has tested positive to COVID-19.  As a precaution, a round of rapid antigen testing has been undertaken for residents at the home earlier today where all tests have returned a negative result. At present, all residents remain well and are asymptomatic.

The Home will conduct regular Rapid Antigen Rat (RAT) testing for COVID-19 to monitor the situation and the next round of resident testing is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 6 September 2022.  As soon as we receive the results, we will let you know of the outcome.

Staff continue to undertake rapid antigen tests prior to their shift and remain committed to supporting residents to receive high quality care, whilst ensuring the highest standard of infection control practices in place.

This is a reminder to us all that community transmission is continuing, and we must remain vigilant.  For those eligible we encourage you to have a booster for additional protection.

We do ask that should you chose to visit the Home, that you have your RAT test prior to entering the Home.

We will advise you immediately of any changes to you or your family member’s health status.  For further information you can reach out to our staff on (03) 9687 8233.  In addition, you are welcome to contact us via email at covid19questions@dgas.org.au

For more support and advice during this time, please reach out to OPAN (Older Persons Advisory Network) on 1800 237 981 or Elder Rights Advocacy Victoria on 1800 171 866.  They are available 6am-10pm, 7 days a week.

Thank you for your support, patience and understanding during at this time.

Yours sincerely,
