Working towards Welcoming You Back

Dear Resident, Families and Friends,

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to work together to keep our Doutta Galla residents, staff and our communities COVID-19 safe.

We recognise how difficult these lockdowns have been and we are pleased to read that the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has outlined principles to remove restrictions on visitation to residential homes (4 October 2021 media release from Minister for Health and Aged Care, Greg Hunt).

Based on this positive news, and as we prepare to receive further directions, we are delighted to inform you that:

  • Doutta Galla has begun to facilitate the reconnection of our residents with their families and loved ones by providing an outdoor Family & Friends Visitor Hub at each of our Homes. We can support up to four (4) fully vaccinated visitors at one time.  You can contact the Homes directly to book your appointment.  Family and Visitors will still need to follow all the screening and entry requirements before any visits go ahead including wearing masks and temperature taken before signing in.
  • We need to be mindful that as we re-open there may be further increases in the risk of COVID-19 cases.  Doutta Galla is doing every little bit to work towards safer access to residents and bringing everyone together and encourage you and any of your family members who are yet to be vaccinated to consider doing so.
  • To play our part in supporting access to vaccinations, we have set up Family & Friends Vaccination Clinic Hub at Doutta Galla Footscray RSL Building. Doutta Galla has teamed up with Aspen Medical to facilitate for families and friends of our residents to access free Pfizer vaccinations by setting up a. The first dose will be available on 13 October 2021. The second dose will be available on 3 November 2021.  If you are wanting a vaccine please do not delay in contacting our Administration Team at your Home for further details and to make a booking.
