Dear Residents, Families and Friends
Doutta Galla Aged Services was advised on the afternoon of Tuesday 7 July by the Department of Health and Human Services that a trainee working at Doutta Galla Lynch’s Bridge Aged Care Home has tested positive to COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Currently we do not have any staff or residents showing any symptoms of COVID 19.
We do not believe that any Doutta Galla staff from other Homes have been in close contact with Lynch’s Bridge staff. There is no need to be alarmed and no resident or staff are showing any signs of the virus. You are receiving this advice as part of our proactive and open communication with you, and as part of our open disclosure policy.
Doutta Galla has activated our emergency response plan and we are working with the relevant state and federal government authorities to ensure we follow protocols for contact tracing, testing and infection control. All residents and most staff of Lynch’s Bridge have been tested today.
Doutta Galla is a proud organisation supporting our aged care community in the Western suburbs. We know that we are in, and near the suburbs that have been most severely affected by the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, and we remain committed to the care, protection and support of our residents.
Our staff have been briefed and are committed to the ongoing care and support of our residents. In addition, staff are trained and monitored in the provision of the highest standard of infection control. Enhanced cleaning protocols at all of our homes are in place and cleaning continues to be a priority. We have brought in additional staff in each of the homes as we continue to provide the highest standard of care and support to our residents.
