Doutta Galla COVID-19

Media statement – Doutta Galla Aged Services

Doutta Galla Aged Services was advised on the afternoon of Tuesday 7 July by the Department of Health and Human Services that a trainee working at Doutta Galla Lynch’s Bridge Aged Care Home has tested positive to COVID-19 (coronavirus).

As a result, Doutta Galla has activated our emergency response plan and we are working with the relevant state and federal government authorities to ensure we follow protocols for contact tracing, testing and infection control.

We have briefed all of our Lynch’s Bridge residents, families and staff.

All residents and most staff have been tested today.  It is our expectation that residents within aged services will be treated as a priority.  We therefore expect to receive most of the results within 24 hours.  Residents and their representatives will be advised of test results as soon as they are available.

Currently we do not have any staff or residents showing symptoms of COVID 19.

Doutta Galla is a proud organisation supporting our aged care community in the Western suburbs.  We know that we are in and near the suburbs that have been most severely affected by the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, and we remain committed to the care, protection and support of our residents.

Doutta Galla has restricted all visitors and a deep clean of the Lynch’s Bridge Aged Care Home has commenced.  Additional staff have been engaged to continue to provide care and support to residents and to provide regular updates to residents and their representatives.

We are continuing to monitor the health and wellbeing of residents.
