Doutta Galla COVID-19

Doutta Galla Footscray Aged Care Services Update

As has been reported a staff member at Doutta Galla Footscray tested positive to COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The staff member had no symptoms, and they continue isolation in their home. The staff member last worked at Doutta Galla Footscray on Sunday 26 April 2020 and has not worked since that date. Doutta Galla was advised of the positive test on 5 May 2020.

As previously reported, as a precaution, Doutta Galla Aged Services activated its emergency response including notifying the relevant state and federal government authorities.

At the time of writing this press release we are pleased to report that Residents and staff members continue to remain symptom free. The situation remains stable with no escalation of concern. There is not an outbreak nor a COVID-19 cluster.

Doutta Galla Aged Services has completed testing of all residents, and we are awaiting those results. We are also pleased to advise that of the test results received by staff to date all have been negative for COVID 19.

Doutta Galla continues to work closely with the government Health departments and wishes to thank them for their support and assistance. We are confident in the processes in place to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our residents, staff and others. The home remains closed to all visitation until at least 11 May 2020, when this will be reviewed.

We continue to practice enhanced infection control and cleaning protocols. In addition, extra cleaning regimes are in place and additional daily hygiene cleans continue.

Our staff remain committed to the ongoing care and support of our residents and we are continuing to keep residents, families and staff updated.
