Doutta Galla COVID-19

9 September 2022

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

I am writing to let you know that that a resident at our Woornack Home has tested positive to COVID-19.   As a precaution, a round of PCR testing has been undertaken for residents at the home.   At present residents at the Home remain well and are asymptomatic.
The Home will conduct regular testing for COVID-19 to monitor the situation with the next round of resident testing scheduled to take place on Sunday 11 September 2022. As soon as we receive the results, we will let you know the outcome.

Staff continue to undertake rapid antigen tests prior to their shift and remain committed to supporting residents to receive high quality care, whilst ensuring the highest standard of infection control practices are in place.

We do ask that should you chose to visit the Home, that you have a negative result from a RAT test prior to entering the Home.

We will advise you immediately of any changes to you or your family member’s health status. For further information you can reach out to our staff on (03) 9312 0111. In addition, you are welcome to contact us via email at covid19questions@dgas.org.au

For more support and advice during this time, please reach out to OPAN (Older Persons Advisory Network) on 1800 237 981 or Elder Rights Advocacy Victoria on 1800 171 866. They are available 6am-10pm, 7 days a week.

Thank you for your support, patience and understanding.

Yours sincerely,
Vanda Iaconese
