Dear Residents, Families and Friends,
We understand it has been an anxious time waiting for more news regarding test results. I am pleased to advise you that all residents and staff who were tested on Sunday 2 August 2020 have returned a negative result, meaning COVID-19 is not detected in any of the tests.
To finalise the process and begin the ‘surveillance’ phase we have waiting for the final staff test results to come through. These have now been received, all negative, and today the Department of Health and Human Services has formally advised that we can now move to the surveillance stage. As of 12 noon today residents were be able to move freely around the Home and have meals in the dining room.
The Home will continue to monitor closely the health and wellbeing of residents for the 14 days during the surveillance stage. During this stage, staff will no longer be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment when caring for residents. Doutta Galla will continue to screen staff before they sign in for work each day, they will wear a face covering at all times whilst at work and they will follow hand hygiene and social distancing protocols. In addition, residents will be encouraged and reminded to practice hand hygiene and social distancing.
We will be able to facilitate telephone calls, Skype, FaceTime and window visits where possible. Please liaise with the staff to make arrangements for visits with residents for end of life, compassionate or for special circumstances.

We will keep in touch with the nominated resident representative on a regular basis to inform you of any changes to the situation.
