Volunteering

Do you have a few hours a week to give back to your community? We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. You choose your own volunteer role and how much time you contribute, with support from our Lifestyle Coordinator and plenty of scope to bring your own ideas.

Founded by a community group in 1991, our volunteers are a valued part of delivering quality aged care services to our residents.

Our volunteers bring skills, passion, knowledge, friendship, warmth and colour to the lives of our residents. They develop skills, create meaningful friendships with older people and keep us connected to our communities.

Schools, businesses and community groups are all welcome to partner with us. Contact us to explore the opportunities.”

The weekly Pop-Up Parisian Café at Queen’s Park is a great example of what volunteers can achieve. Long-term volunteers Gina Stolfo and Bev Shannon dreamed up the Pop-Up Café for residents and visitors, and now it’s making a profit!

Some of the other things our volunteers choose to do:

  • Accompanying outings
  • Facilitating games and activities
  • Teaching art and craft
  • Running book clubs
  • Shopping
  • Providing music and entertainment
  • Men’s Shed activities
  • Gardening
  • Skilled volunteering
  • Fundraising

We welcome volunteers who speak different languages, from diverse backgrounds and all genders, ages and abilities. Volunteers undergo a police check and a formal induction process before they commence.
