Doutta Galla COVID-19

18 August 2022

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

I am pleased to inform you that the Goulburn Valley Primary Health Unit has advised us that our Doutta Galla Harmony Village Residential Home has been given clearance to remove the
COVID-19 outbreak measures.

All our residents have returned negative results to COVID-19.  The good news is that the residents that had tested positive are recovering.  We will continue to closely monitor these residents, and all other residents’, health and wellbeing.

Our staff are committed to ensuring the highest standard of infection control practices are in place, and they will continue to complete Rapid Antigen Tests prior to commencing their shifts at the Home.

As well all visitors are still required to have a Rapid Antigen Test prior to coming to the Home, if you would like to save some time you can have one before visiting.  We do ask that you be patient with our staff and follow their instructions as they welcome you back to the Home.

Winter season is not over yet and there still is a high level of transmission of COVID in the community.  For those who are eligible we encourage you to have a booster to provide you with additional protection.  People who are vulnerable and /or at risk of severe COVID illness are encouraged to wear a mask whenever in public areas.

For further information you can contact our administration staff on 03 5831 7921.  In addition, you are welcome to contact us via email at covid19questions@dgas.org.au

For more support and advice during this time, please reach out to OPAN (Older Persons Advisory Network) on 1800 237 981 or Elder Rights Advocacy Victoria on 1800 171 866.  They are available 6am-10pm, 7 days a week.

Thank you for your support, patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the impact that COVID-19 has on our services.

Yours sincerely,

Vanda Iaconese
