Volunteer With Us

Founded by a community group in 1991, our volunteers are a valued part of delivering quality aged care services to our residents.

Our volunteers bring skills, passion, knowledge, friendship, warmth and colour to the lives of our residents. They develop skills, create meaningful friendships with older people and keep us connected to our communities.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. You choose your own volunteer role and contribute as much time as you like. You are supervised by the Lifestyle Coordinator but have plenty of scope to be creative.

The weekly Pop-Up Parisian Café at Queen’s Park is a great example of what volunteers can achieve. Long-term volunteers Gina Stolfo and Bev Shannon dreamed up the Pop-Up Café for residents and visitors, and now it’s making a profit!

Some of the other things our volunteers choose to do:

  • Accompanying outings
  • Facilitating games and activities
  • Teaching art and craft
  • Running book clubs
  • Shopping
  • Providing music and entertainment
  • Men’s Shed activities
  • Gardening
  • Skilled volunteering
  • Fundraising

We welcome volunteers who speak different languages, from diverse backgrounds and all genders, ages and abilities. Volunteers undergo a police check and a formal induction process before they commence.

We have opportunities for community partnerships. Please contact us to discuss.

Please enter your details below telling us about your interests, skills and your preferred location to volunteer. We will contact you as soon as possible to discuss how you can change the life of yourself and others by volunteering at Doutta Galla. *denotes mandatory field.
