Founded by a community group in 1991, our volunteers are a valued part of delivering quality aged care services to our residents.
Our volunteers bring skills, passion, knowledge, friendship, warmth and colour to the lives of our residents. They develop skills, create meaningful friendships with older people and keep us connected to our communities.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. You choose your own volunteer role and contribute as much time as you like. You are supervised by the Lifestyle Coordinator but have plenty of scope to be creative.
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to your community? Do you have a few hours every week that you can commit to volunteering?
The weekly Pop-Up Parisian Café at Queen’s Park is a great example of what volunteers can achieve. Long-term volunteers Gina Stolfo and Bev Shannon dreamed up the Pop-Up Café for residents and visitors, and now it’s making a profit!
Some of the other things our volunteers choose to do:
We welcome volunteers who speak different languages, from diverse backgrounds and all genders, ages and abilities. Volunteers undergo a police check and a formal induction process before they commence.
We have opportunities for community partnerships. Please contact us to discuss.
Doutta Galla Aged Services acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First People and Traditional Custodians. We value their cultures, identities, and continuing connection to country, waters, kin and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and are committed to making a positive contribution to the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by aligning with organisations that are welcoming, safe, culturally appropriate and inclusive.
