Dear Residents, Family and Friends
It is with reluctance that I am announcing the retirement of Vanda Iaconese as the Doutta Galla CEO effective from 11 November 2023.
Vanda has been at the head of this organisation for 10 years, and I am sure you will all agree she has led us through some very tough times with a steady hand, great humour and humility combined with an incredible dedication to residents, clients their families and to our staff. Vanda will leave Doutta Galla in a strong position both financially and in terms of the high regard in which we are held.
I am sure there will be ample opportunity for us to celebrate and reflect on the huge contribution Vanda has made not only to Doutta Galla but to the aged care sector as a whole.
I know you will all join with me and the Board in acknowledging and thanking Vanda for her tireless commitment to the mission and purpose of Doutta Galla.
In Vanda’s words she is “proud of what we have all achieved together. Our success as an organisation has been contributed to by all of us and we can share in that success. I am very optimistic about the future of aged care and the future of Doutta Galla Aged Services.”
Although this is sad for our Doutta Galla community, I am pleased for Vanda as she takes a well-earned rest and moves into the next phase of her life.
The Doutta Galla Board has commenced the search for a new CEO over the coming period.
On behalf of myself and the Directors of Doutta Galla I would like to take the opportunity to thank Vanda for her very considerable contribution to Doutta Galla and to wish her health and happiness.
